Wilma Pauline (Schroeder) Rasdall, age 88 passed
away peacefully Monday afternoon, May 21, 2012 at the Indiana
Masonic Home in Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar.
Wilma was born November 4, 1923 in Brown County to
the late Paul and Flossie M. (Miller) Schroeder. She married
James R. Gregory in September of 1941 in Indianapolis. He passed
away while serving his country during World War II. On October 25,
1945 Wilma married Garland W. 'John' Rasdall in Indianapolis.
He preceded her in death on October 9, 2006 after 61 devoted
years.
After graduation from Helmsburg High School in
1941 and raising her family, Wilma worked for the Indiana Masonic
Home in Franklin during the 1960's. In 1966, she went to work for
Farm Bureau Insurance in Indianapolis and retired in 1985 after 20
years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed working at the
Apple Works Orchard in Trafalgar.
Wilma was a 60 year member of the Mt. Carmel
Christian Church in Trafalgar where she was a past Sunday School
Teacher, Superintendent and the Treasurer for more than 10 years.
Wilma was also the past president of the Ladies Aid at the church.
She served as a Director on the Johnson County Farm Bureau Board
for 34 years and was the secretary from 1980 to 1993. Wilma enjoyed
working in her flower & vegetable gardens, sewing and
traveling.
She was the loving mother to: Norman R. (Elaine)
Gregory of Albany and Janet (Kenneth) Haste of Trafalgar. Wilma
will be remembered by her sister: Frieda M. (Bob) Arnold of
Morgantown; seven grandchildren: Bonni Whitewater, Shelli Wells,
Vonda Linfor, Dawn Ross, Deana Gregory, Kenny Dale Haste & Kent
Haste; thirteen great grandchildren; two sister in laws: Irene
Schroeder of Brown County & Ruth Robinson of Morgantown;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred
& Claude Schroeder.
The Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a funeral
service 10:30 am Thursday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home
Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in
Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday at the
funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in
Morgantown.
