Wilma Jean (Hamilton) Fowler age 83 passed away Monday morning, November 1, 2010 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana. She was a resident of Martinsville.

Wilma Jean was born October 12, 1927 in Morgantown to the late Fred and Mattie Belle (Scarbrough) Hamilton Sr. She married her loving husband of 38 years Max L. Fowler on March 3, 1944 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1983.

She is survived by one daughter: Janet Anderson, and her husband Dale of De Pere, WI; three sons: Bill Fowler of East Peoria, IL, Monte Fowler, and his wife Jayne of Houston, TX & Mark L. Fowler, and his wife Samantha of Covington. Wilma Jean will be remembered by her sister: Bea McFarland and brother: Fred Hamilton Jr. both of Morgantown; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Audrey Wilson and one brother: Marvin Hamilton.

Wilma Jean was a loving mother and homemaker. She retired in 1996 as a cook from Morgan Hospital & Medical Center in Martinsville after 12 years of service. Prior to that, Wilma Jean worked as a cafeteria worker for the Martinsville School District from 1975 to 1979. She was the first cook to prepare meals at the new Martinsville High School in 1976.

Wilma Jean enjoyed her free time by spending it with friends and family. She loved playing bingo, the lottery and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Rev. Brett Baird will conduct a funeral 3 pm Friday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 1 pm till service time Friday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Morgantown.
