William "Austin" Brown, age 66 passed away on
Sunday morning, June 17, 2012 at the Brown County Health &
Living Community in Nashville. He was a resident of Brown
County.
Austin was born October 24, 1945 in Martinsville
to the late William Edward & Mildred Mae (Sanders) Brown. He
married his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Linda D. (Beaver)
Brown on April 20, 1968 at the Pleasant Grove Christian Church in
Martinsville. She survives.
Austin is also survived by his children: Glenda
(fiancé, Tom Bailey) Brown of Brown County and William E. (wife,
Judy) Brown of Freedom. He will be remembered by his mother in law:
Ann Belle Beaver of Nashville; his sister: Alice Marie Shaw of
Franklin; four grandchildren & four great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter:
Elizabeth J. "Lizzie" Fox-Mulvey and a sister: Nedra Joan
Brown.
Austinwas a 1964 graduate of Trafalgar High School
and went on to serve his country as a Specialist 4 with the United
State Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2006 as a Machine
Operator for Navistar after 31 years of service. Austin was the
past chief & held most other offices within the Fruitdale Fire
Company Station #3 in Brown County. He also was a certified Fire
Instructor & Fire Inspector. Austin was a member of the Indiana
Volunteers Fire Fighters Association, the Morgantown Baptist Church
and the Brown County American Legion. He was a former member of the
EMT Association, Red Cross & the Civil Defense all of Brown
County.
The Rev. Mike Young will conduct a funeral service
at 10:30 am, Thursday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation
& Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in
Morgantown. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at
the funeral home along with an Indiana Volunteer Fire Fighters
Assoc. Memorial Service. Burial will be at Nebo Memorial Park
in Martinsville with military graveside rites presented by the
Brown County Honor Guard.
