Vernon G. "Vern" Vaughan, age 76 passed away Sunday evening, February 6, 2011 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Nashville.

Vern was born September 4, 1934 in Indianapolis to the late Louis Marshall and Gladys Lacricia (Hollingsworth) Vaughan. He married his loving wife of 55 years Eleanor Lee Pardue on May 3, 1955 in Indianapolis. She survives.

Vern is also survived by two daughters: Trudy M. (husband Bobby) Johnston & Shannon R. Vaughan both of Greenwood; three sons: Christian Edward (wife Cheryl) Vaughan of Greenfield, Jeffrey Dean (wife Jenny) of Mooresville, Aaron Daniel (wife Heidi) Vaughan of Winter Haven, FL; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one sister: Delores Curts and two brothers: James & Gene Vaughan.

Vern was a 1952 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and went on to study photography and religion at Butler University and the Indiana Bible College. He received an Honorary Doctorates Degree from Indiana Bible College in 1982. Vern was a charter member of the Berean Baptist Church in Greenwood where he worked as a Printer and was the founder of Bearing Precious Seed Missions within the Church.

He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed watching old black & white movies. Vern loved his family, enjoyed golfing, bird hunting and printing God's word.

The Rev. Billl Blakely will conduct a graveside service, 11 am Friday at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. The Revs. Bill Blakely & Raymond McAlister will conduct a Celebration of Life Service, 1 pm Saturday at the Berean Baptist Church, 1191 W. County Line Road in Greenwood. Friends may call from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
