Thomas V. "Pat" McGuire, age 93 passed away Wednesday morning,
February 2, 2011 at his residence in Brown County.
Pat was born September 16, 1917 in Morgantown to the late Roy E.
and Ruby P. (Hodges) McGuire. He married Ioleen (Isaacs) McGuire on
November 2, 1940 in Nashville. Ioleen preceded him in death on July
12, 1987.
Pat retired in 1994 as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Brown
County Landfill after 22 years of service. Prior to that, he worked
as a Tool & Die Maker for more than 30 years at Starlight
Manufacturing, Gammons Sheet Metal & RCA all in
Indianapolis.
Pat was a 1935 graduate of Helmsburg High School. He was a fifty
year member of the Nashville Masonic Lodge #135 and attended the
Cottonwood Christian Church in Brown County. Pat was a past
Director for the Morgan County REMC.
He was the loving father to: Bonnie (husband Joe) Poynter of Brown
County. He will be remembered by his two sisters: Jean Pieper of
Franklin & Norma Young of Milwaukee, WI; one brother: Robert
McGuire of California; one son-n-law: Carroll Anderson of
Greenwood; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren &
one great-great grandchild and several nieces & nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by one son: Thomas Allen McGuire; one
daughter: Carole Sue Anderson and one brother: Lester
McGuire.
The Rev. Darrel Miller will conduct a funeral service 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation &
Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. A
Masonic Service will be conducted by the Nashville Lodge #135 at
7:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest
Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Pat to the Brown
County Humane Society, 5820 N. Bittersweet Road, Morgantown, IN
