Rosemary (Terman) Smith passed away in her 89th year surrounded
by her loving children on Monday morning, April 26, 2010 at The
Waters of Martinsville. She was a longtime resident of
Morgantown.
Rosemary was born January 2, 1922 in Franklin to the late Roy and
Anna (Laughlin) Terman. She was the beloved wife of Herschell M.
Smith whom she married on August 9, 1947 in Franklin. He preceded
her in death after 35 devoted years on November 9, 1982.
She was the loving mother of Jo Ellen Rowe and her husband Frank of
Martinsville, John M. Smith and his wife Helen and Mark T. Smith
both of Morgantown, step mother to Wilma Jean Duliba and her
husband Bob and Don Smith and his wife Susie both of New York.
Rosemary was much loved by her 6 grandchildren: Clyce, Max &
Brian Smith, Jennifer Setser, Kelly Johnson and Megan Wise & 8
great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her niece Marjorie
Neumeyer of Spencer.
Rosemary was preceded in death by four sisters: Emma Terman,
Florence Ashley, Marie Reed & Leah Terman; one brother: Charles
Terman and a niece Norma Dallas.
She was a homemaker and was the owner & operator of Smith's
Antiques in Morgantown during the 1980's. Rosemary worked for
Indiana Bell during World War II as a switchboard operator. She was
a 60 year member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church where
she participated in the Altruist Class, Good Cheer Class and was a
past Sunday School Teacher. Rosemary was also a member of the
Morgantown Senior Center.
She enjoyed taking care of her dogs and cats, collecting antiques
and playing euchre. Rosemary loved to read her Bible and spend time
with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
