Rachel J. (McKinney) Lingle, age 67 passed away
Wednesday morning,February 1, 2012 at Indiana University Health
Morgan Hospital in Martinsville. She was a resident of Brown
County.
Rachel was born April 12, 1944 in Nicholas County,
West Virginia, to the late Early & Pearl Virginia (Donaldson)
McKinney. She married Stephen M. Lingle on January 29, 1987 in
Nashville. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters: Debbie
Smith of Port Orange, FL, Cindy Hudson of Northern Indiana &
Carmen Orndosf of Virginia; two sons: Robert McKinney of
Indianapolis & Daniel Smith of Brown County; three sisters:
Edith Pitchford of Colorado Springs, CO, Grace Fields of Nettie,
W.V. & Tilta Kemp of Port Orange, FL; several grandchildren
& great grandchildren.
Rachel was preceded in death by three sisters:
Helen Hammons, Thelma & Virginia McKinney; five brothers:
Early, Ben, Ralph, Dudley & Fred McKinney.
Rachel was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. In
her earlier years, she cleaned homes and worked at several
restaurants. Rachel was known for her great cooking and home
decorating ability. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens,
collecting furniture and watching western movies. Rachel also
enjoyed spending time with her family and was a fan of the
Indianapolis Colts.
The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service
at 1:00 pm Tuesday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation &
Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial
will be at Hilldale Cemetery in Martinsville.
