Rachel (Taylor) Pierce - Wade, age 70 passed away
Tuesday evening, January 10, 2012 at the Brown County Health &
Living Community in Nashville. She was a resident of Brown County
and former resident of Milltown.
Rachel was born March 5, 1941 in Johnson County to
the late Arthur Calvin and Anna Grace Taylor. She attended
school in Nineveh and was a loving homemaker and mother.
She is survived by three daughters: Carrie E.
(husband, Charles) Johnson and Celina K. (husband, Philip)
Quakenbush both of Brown County & Deanna Marie (husband, James)
Beard of Martinsville. She will be remembered by her seven
grandchildren: Crystal Franklin, Sarah Little, Philip & Joseph
Quakenbush, Dennis Mitchell & Chelsea Purkhiser and Tyler
Beard; four great grandchildren: Constance & Nikole Franklin,
Carter Purkhiser & Addison Byers. She will be remembered and
loved by all who knew her.
Rachel was preceded in death by her second
husband, William Wade.
Rachel was a member of theLocust Grove Pentecostal
Church in Brown County where she a past Sunday School Teacher.
Rachel enjoyed singing in the church choir and also entertaining
the residents with her singing at local nursing homes. She was
known for her great cooking, ability to sew, karaoke and enjoyed
mushroom hunting. Rachel loved her family and cherished her time
spent with her grandchildren. She treated all people equally and
had never met a stranger.
The Rev. Walter Fletcher will conduct a funeral
service at 1 pm Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation
& Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
Friends may call from 11 am till service time on Saturday at the
funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in
Morgantown.
