Service Date:Fathers Mark Gottemoeller and John Hall will conduct a funeral mass 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Martin’s Tours of Catholic Church, 1720 E. Harrison Street in Martinsville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A rosary Service will be held at 4 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Martin’s Tours of Catholic Church Cemetery in Martinsville.

Monica Ann (Zupancic) Witt, age 50 passed away Friday morning, April 30, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Morgantown.

Monica was born January 23, 1960 in Martinsville to John F. and Mary A. (Konechnik) Zupancic. She lives in the heart of Bill Witt, her husband and best friend of 14 years. They were married on April 20, 1996 at St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville. He survives.

She was a 1978 graduate of Indian Creek High School and a member of the St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville where she participated in the Alter Society. Monica also was a member of the Jackson Township Farm Bureau and the American Slovenian Society. She loved watching her daughter participate in sports, working crafts and collecting angels. Monica enjoyed working in her flower gardens, tending to her blackberries patch and taking care of her cats. She was the winner of the 1984 Powder Box Demolition Derby at the Morgan County Fair and enjoyed whitewater rafting.

Monica was a loving mother and homemaker. She worked as a secretary for WCBK Radio in Martinsville from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, Monica worked for Custom Mortgages as an Executive Assistant from 1990 to 2006 and Associate Finance Company from 1980 to 1990.

Monica was much loved and cherished by her daughter: Morgan A. Witt and her mother: Mary A. Zupancic both of Morgantown. She will be remembered by her two sisters: Helen Smith and her husband John & Anna M. Zupancic both of Morgantown; four brothers: John F. Zupancic III and his wife Marie, Charles E. Zupancic and his wife Suzanne and George A. Zupancic and his wife Shirley all of Morgantown & Harry A. Zupancic and his wife Vicki of Franklin; mother in law: Bonza Witt of Albany, KY, and several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.

Monica was preceded in death by her father: John F. Zupancic on July 30, 2008.
