Mary "Marlene" (McKee) Parson

Mary "Marlene" (McKee) Parson, age 66 passed away Wednesday morning,August 31, 2011 at Select Hospital of Beech Grove, Beech Grove, Indiana.  She was a resident of Morgantown.

 

Marlene was born January 3, 1945 in Martinsville to the late William & Edell (Collett) McKee.  She married her loving husband of 48 years, Donald R. "Donnie" Parson Sr. on January 5, 1963 in Gainesboro,Tenn. He survives.

 

Marlene retired in 1999 as an Assembly worker from RCA in Bloomington after 32 years of service. After retirement, she worked at Joe's Junction as a Cook in Trafalgar. Marlene was of Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking & spending time with her family. She was an avid player of the lottery, a "couponaholic" and enjoyed shopping. Marlene was a fan of watching movies with Sandra Bullock and Dean Martin in them.

 

She was the devoted mother to Donald R. "Donnie" Jr. (wife, Laurie) Parson of Martinsville & James "Rusty" (wife, Trudy) Parson of Morgantown. She will be remembered by her two sisters: Norma Baker of Martinsville & Eva Rice of Eminence, one brother: Billy McKee of Bloomington; grandchildren: Jeana Nichols of Miami, Fl, Kyle, Caleb & Casey Parson of Martinsville, step grandchildren: Lindsey Dalton & Logan Maxwell both of Martinsville, Holly Ziegler, Jessica & Dawn James all of Morgantown; one great granddaughter: Angel Duran ofMiami,FL.

 

Marlene was preceded in death by one sister: Betty Lucas and one brother: Larry McKee.   

 

The Rev. Ed Tharpe will conduct a funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville.

 

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Marlene to the Morgan County Humane Society, 690 W. Mitchell Ave. Martinsville, IN 46151.
