Mary Jane (Nay) Kemp - Weakley age 88 passed away Saturday
morning, May 15, 2010 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
She was a life-long resident of Morgantown.
Mary Jane was born February 8, 1922 in Brown County to the late
Edwin H. & Edna Marie (Antrim) Nay. She married Riley W. Kemp
on August 22, 1939 in Morgantown and he preceded her in death after
43 loving years on September 28, 1982. She later married Carey A.
Weakley on February 28, 1993 in Morgantown and he preceded her in
death on April 24, 1994.
Mary Jane will be remembered by her two daughters: Patsy Williams
and her husband, Barry of Morgantown and Shirley Long and her
husband, George of Wasilla, AK; two sons: David L. Kemp and his
wife, Joyce and Richard L. Kemp and his wife, Dolores both of
Morgantown; step daughter: Sherolene Gadomski of Indianapolis; step
sons: Robert, Val & William Weakley all of Greenwood, Rayburn
A. Weakley of Brown County and Jan Weakley of Anaheim, CA; one
brother: Maurice Nay of Indianapolis, 11 grandchildren and several
great grandchildren.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Snyder &
Elizabeth Hall; two brothers: Robert & Charles Nay.
She retired in 1992 as a waitress and pie maker at Kathy's Café in
Morgantown after more than 30 years of service. Prior to that, she
worked at Camp Atterbury during the war as a Dietitian and as an
Obit Operator for the Indianapolis Star during the 1950's.
Mary Jane was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in
Trafalgar and attended the Morgantown Baptist Church. She was known
for her good cooking and baking. Mary Jane enjoyed reading her
Bible, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a fan
of the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs.
