Marilyn Maxine (Day) Dillard, age 73 passed away
Friday evening, December 2, 2011 at Homeview Health &
Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. She was a resident of
Franklin.
Marilyn was born March 2, 1938 in Union Township
to the late Donald and Elsie (Baker) Day. She married James
W. "Shorty" Dillard on June 16, 1967 in Wilbur. He preceded
her in death on February 17, 2002 after 34 devoted years.
Marilyn was the loving mother of Debby K.
(husband, Jimmy) Leonard of Bargersville, James Michael (wife, Amy)
Dillard of Indianapolis & Donna D. (husband, Glenn) Burke of
Franklin. She will be remembered by her grandchildren: Rusty,
Shelsie, Bobby, Christine, Nicholas, Ashley, Elizabeth, Damien,
Simon & Mateo; and four great grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and
one brother: Warren Day.
She retired in 2008 as a Motor Route Carrier for
the Indianapolis Star after 29 years of service. Prior to that,
Marilyn held the same position for 10 years with the Daily Journal
Newspaper in Franklin.
She was a member of theCalvary Baptist Church, VFW
Post # 5864 and the Eagles Lodge #4132 all of Greenwood. She also
was a member of the Bargersville Senior Center. Marilyn
enjoyed playing euchre, bingo, and visiting the gambling boats
& horse tracks. Marilyn was a fan of the Indianapolis
Colts and the game show "Deal or No Deal". She also enjoyed
listening to country and gospel music.
The Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a funeral
service at 10:30 am, Wednesday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home
Cremation & Personalization Center,179 E. Mulberry Street in
Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday at the
funeral home. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in
Franklin.

Marilyn to the Riley Children's Hospital Foundation, 50 S. Meridian
St. Indianapolis, IN 46204.
