Joe Ray Hanner, age 84 passed away Wednesday
afternoon, January 11, 2012 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. He
was a resident of Martinsville.
Joe Ray was born March 3, 1927 in Brownstown to
the late Bazil and Sadie K. (Wray) Hanner.
Joe Ray is survived by one brother: Keith Hanner
and several nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Josephine
Hanner; four brothers: Kenneth, Homer, Frank & Owen Hanner
Joe Ray was a horse trader and having no children
of his own, he enjoyed helping and spending time with his many
nieces and nephews. Joe Ray was known for his quick wit and playing
pranks on those he loved.
The Rev. Lonnie Dunn will conduct a graveside
service 1:00 pm Saturday at Kurtz Cemetery in Kurtz, IN.
