Service Date:The Rev. Gregory S. Brown will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 am, Friday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Jeff Hoskins, age 71 passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2012 at his home in Franklin. By his side, was his loving family and his devoted wife of 15 years, Janice L. (Hurst) Hoskins, whom he married on Valentines Day in 1997 in Nashville. Jeff was a former resident of Brown County.

He was the father to Debbie (Michael) West of Big Creek, KY, Doyel (Pennie) Hoskins of Edinburgh, Darrel (Susan) Hoskins of Bargersville, Claybie (Sandra) Hoskins of Trafalgar, Wayne (Nancy) Hoskins of Spencer; step daughters: Patty (Dave) Frensemeier & Kimberly (Brian) Brady both of Nashville; and step son: Timothy James (Susan) Huber of Tell City. Jeff will be remembered by his siblings: Violet Sizemore & Clabbie Hoskins both of Brown County and Hiram Hoskins of Louisville; 26 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Fern (Swafford) Hoskins; one sister: Myrtle Wagers; and three brothers: Ballard, Hugh & Clifton Hoskins.

Jeff was born February 23, 1940 in Manchester, KY to the late Howard and Malvie (Barger) Hoskins. He retired in 1990 as a Union Carpenter with the Carpenters Local 60 in Indianapolis, after 22 years of service. After retirement, Jeff enjoyed raising and trail riding his Tennessee Walking Horses & mules. He was a 15 year member of the Harmony Baptist Church in New Bellsville. He enjoyed watching old western movies and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jeff also enjoyed his time outdoors hunting for squirrels, deer & rabbits and fishing.

    Jan, I was sorry to here of Jeffs passing. Although I didn't know him we were sorry to hear of your loss, and know you will miss him. From reading his obituary he must have been a wonderful companion. You will be in our prayers.
