Eulah Esther (Nelson) Lower age 86 passed away Thursday, April
7, 2011 at The Waters of Martinsville. She was a resident of
Morgantown.
Esther was born January 21, 1925 in Indianapolis to the late Thomas
H. and Dora L. (Johnson) Nelson. She married her loving husband,
Edgar A. Lower on January 5, 1945 in Greenfield. He preceded her in
death on July 26, 1992 after 47 devoted years.
Esther was a 1942 graduate of George Washington High School in
Indianapolis and attended Butler University in Indianapolis for 2
years.
She was a loving mother and homemaker. During the 1970's, Esther
worked as a Receptionist for the Children's Bureau in Indianapolis.
She was a 40 year member and past church pianist of the Gospel
Light House Church in Morgantown (formerly, Morgantown Assembly of
God). Esther enjoyed playing the piano, reading her Bible and
watching Fox News on Television. She also loved traveling with her
family to Florida and South Dakota.
Survivors include two daughters: Patti Ellen (husband, Pete) Keller
of Piedmont, SD and Carol E. Lower of Zionsville; one son: Martin
J. (wife, Karen) Lower of Morgantown; one sister: Beulah Richart of
Plainfield; six grandchildren: Deanna Halvorson, Holly Alspaw,
Matthew Keller, Eric, Amy & Michael Brandon Lower; and eight
great grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by one son: Joe N. Lower; one great
grandson: Michael Halvorson and a sister: Mary Ruth Ransdell.
The Revs. Frank Criswell & Mike Woodhouse will conduct a
funeral service 1 pm Monday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home
Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in
Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 am till service time Monday at
the funeral home. Entombment will be at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery
in Martinsville.
