Ernest H. Creek, age 87 passed away Thursday
morning, March 1, 2012 at his home in Trafalgar.
He was born February 4, 1925 in Fountain Run,
Kentucky to the late Elijah and Virgie Creek. Ernest married
Sadie M. (Lane) Creek on October 6, 1956. She preceded him in death
on January 31, 1989 after 32 loving years. He served as a Private
First Class with the United States Army.
Ernest was retired from General Motors Truck and
Bus Plant in Indianapolis, where he worked as an Assemblyman. He
was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 20 in
Indianapolis and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by one daughter: Cynthia (husband,
William) Couch of Nashville; one granddaughter: Kimberly (husband,
Nat) Huber of Brown County; six step grandchildren and one great
grandchild. Ernest will be remembered by his four sisters: Dean
Lane & Annie Scruggs both of Fountain Run, KY, Daisy Phillips
of Lafayette, Tenn. & Mary Tabor of Scottsville, KY.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Waceil
Williams & Louise Shockley; and three brothers: Carl, Pug &
Junior Creek.
Ernest enjoyed being outdoors working on his
family farm raising cows and vegetables in his garden. He was a fan
of wrestling and old country & gospel music.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Monday
at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization
Center,179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from
11 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Ernest will
be laid to rest next to his wife at East Hill Cemetery in
Morgantown. Military grave side rites will be presented by the
Martinsville American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor
Guards.
