David R. Olson, age 66 passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 at
Bloomington Hospital. He was a resident of Brown County.
David was born January 29, 1944 in Gary, to the late Simon and
Helen (Geiger) Olson. He married his loving wife of 45 years Joyce
V. (Langman) Olsen on June 25, 1965 in Gary. She survives.
David was a 1962 graduate of Lew Wallace High School in Gary. He
retired in 2000 years as a Scarfer from Bethlehem Steel in Gary
after 34 years of service.
David will be missed by his daughters: Debbie Hibner of Brown
County & Tricia M. Petretta and husband Bon of Portage; two
sons: Matthew Olson and his wife Jocelyn of Bigsby, OK, Mark Olson
and wife Carrie of Knoxville, TN. He leaves behind his cherished
fourteen grandchildren and a sister: Joyce Globke of Hammond.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother:
Donald Olson
David was a professional & passionate cabinet and furniture
maker. He enjoyed reading mystery books and watching NCIS &
Criminal Minds on television. David also enjoyed working in his
vegetable and flower
gardens and loved to travel with his wife to Minnesota for
fishing trips. He was a member of the Goshen Community Church in
Brown County and was a past member of the Swedish Lodge in
Indianapolis.
