Daniel K. Wilson, age 69 passed away Tuesday
morning, November 22, 2011 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in
Indianapolis. He was a resident of Morgantown. By his side,
was his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy C. (Parsley) Wilson whom he
married on August 26, 1967 at the Morgantown Baptist Church and his
two children, Andrew and Suzette.
He was born October 24, 1942 in Indianapolis to
the late Dr. Oliver R. and Mary Frances (Lucas)Wilson. Daniel
was a 1960 graduate ofShortridge High School in Indianapolis and
went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Indiana
University.
He retired in 1984 as the Manager of the
Healthcare Utilization and Investigation Unit Department of Blue
Cross and Blue Shield of Indiana. After retirement, Daniel became a
Licensed Real Estate Broker and was the owner and operated of ERA
Accord Realtors in Trafalgar. Also, after retirement, he worked as
a Substitute Teacher for Franklin and Indian Creek Schools.
His true passion was raising beef cattle on his family farm.
Daniel was a member of the Fellowship Baptist
Church and attended the Beech Grove Baptist Church both of
Trafalgar. He was the past President of the Franklin Kiwanis Club
and Past Lt. Governor of the Heartland Division of Kiwanis. Other
memberships include, past board member of the Franklin Girls Club,
Founding President of the Indiana University Liberal Arts Alumni
Assoc., and the Johnson County Beef Cattle Association.
Daniel enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling.
He was known for his great cooking and famous for his chili. Daniel
enjoyed spending time with his pets.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy C. Wilson
ofMorgantown; daughter: Suzette E. Wilson of Morgantown; son:
Andrew Daniel (wife, Heather) Wilson of Greenwood and his
granddaughter: Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Greenwood. Daniel will be
remembered by his siblings: Dianne E. Wilson of Ellettsville,
Richard Francis Wilson of Springville & Dr. Donald Leon Wilson
ofIndianapolis.
The Rev. Myron Young will conduct a funeral
service 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home
Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in
Morgantown. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the
funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. till service time on Saturday.
Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
