Carolyn Jane "Janie" (Vaught) Johnson age 63 of Brown County,
passed away Friday morning, September 17, 2010 at Johnson Memorial
Hospital in Franklin. After a 5 month courageous battle with
cancer, Janie leaves this life to go home and be with the Lord and
her son: Paul Samuel "P.J." Johnson, whom preceded her in death on
August 3, 2005.
She was born August 18, 1947, in Brown County, to the late Clyde
Bell & Emma Rose (Little) Vaught. She lives in the heart of
Michael S. Johnson, her loving husband of 48 years. They were
married on October 27, 1962 in Franklin, KY.
Janie was a loving homemaker and was a former school bus driver for
Hickory Ridge Head Start School in Brown County.
She was the devoted mother to three daughters: Michelle (Gary) Fox
of Nashville, Tina (Robert) Finley & Mary Ross both of Brown
County and one son: Michael Ray Johnson of Brown County. She will
be remembered by her siblings: Mildred Hutchison of Indianapolis,
Virginia (Ray) Albright of Brown County, Roscoe (Karen) Vaught of
Seminole, FL, Donald (Edna) Vaught of Morgantown, Carl Vaught &
Harold Henry (Garnetta) Vaught both of Brown County. She was
grandma to nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also
survived by several nieces and nephews.
Janie was preceded in death by two sisters: Lillian Hutchison &
Ada Sanders; three brothers: John, Clyde & Melvin Vaught.
She was a life long member of the Sprunica Christian Church in
Brown County. Janie loved to work in her yard, mushroom hunt and
was a fan of Hallmark & Lifetime television. She enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren and her dog "Nipper".
The Rev. Fred Harrison will conduct a funeral service Monday at
10:00 am at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation &
Personalization Center, 179 E, Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends
and family may call from 1 pm to 5 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Goshen Cemetery in Brown County.
