Brad Alan Whetstine, age 40 passed away Thursday, October 14,
2010 at his residence in Bloomington. He was a former resident of
Nineveh.
He was born on November 2, 1969 in Franklin to Bobby Gene &
Phyllis Marie (King) Whetstine. Brad was a 1988 graduate of Indian
Creek High School and went on to earn his Bachelors degree from Indiana
University. During college, he worked as a photographer for the
college newspaper, where he won several awards for his work in
Journalism. Brad also authored a story "Augustinian Influences"
published in "patterns for a purpose" a text book used for freshmen
college
courses.
Prior to attending Indiana University, Brad worked for Holbrook
Manufacturing in Franklin for 12 years. He enjoyed building model
ships & sailboats, attending musicals, plays and the opera.
Brad loved to read about history and folk art. He played the banjo
and saxophone and enjoyed spending time with his two basset
hounds.
Brad is survived by his loving parents: Bobby G. & Phyllis M.
Whetstine of Trafalgar; his special new love: Melissa Kirkwood of
Bloomington; one sister: Lu Ann (Tim) Smith of Greenville, SC; one
Brother: Richard L. (Pam) Whetstine of Nineveh; sister in law:
Sandy Whetstine; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
He is preceded in death by one brother: Norman "Butch" Whetstine, 2
nieces and 1 nephew.
The Rev. Danny Thomas will conduct a funeral service 7 pm Monday at
Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization
Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5
to 7 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of
Brad to any organization or foundation of the donor's
choosing.
