Alice J. (Cox) Heavilon, age 83 passed away Friday
morning, December 16, 2011 at her residence in Brown County.
She was born July 30, 1928 in Hamilton County to
the late Orville M. and Elfleda (Emery) Cox.
Alice was a 1946 graduate of New Richmond High
School in Montgomery County and attended Indiana University in
Bloomington. She was a loving housewife and mother who enjoyed
sewing, cooking, gardening, and playing the piano. She also
enjoyed watching cooking shows and spending time with her
family.
Alice is survived by her three children: Brenda
(husband, Steve) Beers of Brown County, Bill (wife, May) Heavilon
of Poland & John (wife, Kathy) Heavilon of Bloomington; four
grandchildren: Ross, Shelby, Leigh Ann & Rebecca; three
sisters: Ruthanna Oppy of New Richmond, Betty Allen of
Indianapolis & Margaret Gilmore of Pennsylvania; two
brothers: Paul Cox of Darlington & Howard Cox of Ft.
Myers, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jim
Cox.
The Rev. Ben Swopes will conduct a Graveside
service at 1:00 PM Monday at East Hill Cemetery in
Morgantown. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization
Center in Morgantown.
